Originally from Tianjin, China. I obtained my BSc in chemistry from University of Edinburgh and BEng in chemical engineering from Tianjin University in summer 2020. I completed my bachelor’s project on protodeboronation kinetics of fluorinated boronic esters under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Guy Lloyd-Jones in Edinburgh. Afterwards I carried out my master’s thesis in the Bull group at Imperial College London looking at the synthesis of fluorinated gem-diborylalkane derivatives from aldehydes. With an organic background, I joined the Hevia group in November 2022 as a PhD student to investigate the syntheses and reactivities of cobalt (bimetallic) complexes.

During my free time I enjoy reading, going to classical concerts, hiking and watching cat videos (since sadly I don’t have a cat).
